Affiliate Disclosure & Financial Transparency

Effective Date: 2026

1. A Mission-First Approach

Afford Today is a financial literacy initiative of State Employees Inc (MNSEI). Our mission is to provide free educational resources, budget templates, and tools to help our community build economic stability.

Unlike traditional affiliate sites that exist solely for profit, our platform is designed to give back. We use the revenue generated here to maintain free public resources and, most importantly, to keep prices affordable for our targeted clients: public servants, police officers, first responders, teachers, and students.

2. How We Earn & Reinvest Revenue

We believe in radical transparency regarding our funding. Here is how our model works:

  • Affiliate Links: Some links on Afford Today are "affiliate links." This means if you click a link and purchase an item, we may receive a small commission from the vendor.
  • No Extra Cost to You: This commission comes at no additional cost to you. The price remains the same (or sometimes lower, if we have negotiated a discount) whether you use our link or not.
  • Where the Money Goes: We do not participate in cash payout rewards for individuals. Instead, 100% of these commissions are reinvested into the platform and our mission. This funding allows us to:Sustain our free calculators and educational blogs.Fund special community projects and new initiatives.Cover essential operational expenses, including compensation for our staff and volunteers.Subsidize consulting and service costs for public servants, first responders, and students, ensuring those who serve our community can afford the help they need.

3. Product Integrity & Review Standards

Our editorial content is never influenced by advertisers. We adhere to a strict "Pros, Cons, & Costs" methodology:

  • Honest Charting: When we compare apps or services, we chart the pros, cons, and actual costs clearly. We do not hide negative details to earn a commission.
  • Curated Selection: We only recommend products we have vetted that align with our standards for affordability and quality. If a product doesn't bring value to your financial wellness journey, we won't list it.

4. Liability Disclaimer

Afford Today provides these links for your convenience. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. You acknowledge and agree that Afford Today shall not be responsible or liable for any damage or loss caused by your use of any such content, goods, or services.
